Everyone who knows me knows I’m a straight shooter and very direct. So my platform is clear, simple and to the point. I’m pro-life, I’m pro-gun and I’m opposed to illegal immigration. I support business, I believe in low property taxes, and I’ve fought tooth and nail for the property rights of landowners. If you want to know what I stand for in less than 30 seconds, that’s it right there.

Ben’s Bio

Ben Leman is a successful and proven business owner. He will fight illegal immigration, he is a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment and Ben will work aggressively to lower property taxes.

Ben began his successful business career when he co-founded an oil and gas equipment manufacturing company in 1997. He successfully navigated major growth rates on a very tight budget, growing the complex business ‘from just two of us in my mother’s garage’ to over 100 employees, 25 stocking locations around the world and a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in House District 13. After selling his company, he shifted his focus to civic duty and successfully ran for Grimes County Judge with a pledge to “right the ship” and prepare the County for its expected rapid growth. With that goal achieved, Ben wants to now serve House District 13 as State Representative to do the right thing in Austin and ensure Conservative representation for rural Texas.

Ben’s Values

N

Supports the 2nd Amendment

Ben is very much pro-2nd Amendment. His view is our 2nd Amendment rights are God-given and the Constitution is in place to preserve and protect those God-given rights. The right to protect our families and communities has always been in the fabric of our Nation, and as a State Representative, Ben will do everything in his power to see that remain the case.

N

Staunchly Pro-Life

As a father of four and a Christian husband, Ben is staunchly pro-life. As a member of the Legislature, he will always consider the needs of our most vulnerable and will do everything in his power to protect the rights of the unborn.

N

Opposed to Illegal Immigration

Enough is enough…our State needs a secure border! Ben believes immigration is a privilege…not a right.

N

Pro-Business

Ben knows how to successfully run a business and understands the weight of signing both sides of the paycheck. Business owners need the right support in the Legislature so their business remains only their business and not the government’s.

N

Property Tax Reform

Property taxes have gotten out of control. People are being taxed out of their homes and land, and a solution is needed. Ben has the business background and backbone to fight for our rights in Austin, and he will work aggressively to lower our property taxes. In fact, did you know property taxes were lowered 2 out of the 3 years Ben was County Judge?

N

Private Property Rights

Ben is most known in public office for being a staunch defender of private property rights and an advocate for rural Texas. As County Judge, Ben filed and won a lawsuit in District Court against Texas Central Partners, the corporation claiming the authority of eminent domain for their proposed private project. The lawsuit effectively prevented Texas Central Partners from being able to perform surveys on County property.
